Taken from 'Latest News':
'The David 'Willy' Williams tribute game took place on Saturday with the 'pinks' beating the 'blues' 5-3 on penalties after the game had ended 2-2. The event drew a sizeable crowd which included members of Willy's family with his father David also taking part in the game and scoring the first penalty of the shoot out. Richard Taylor opened the scoring for the pinks, latching onto a loose ball after a fine strike from Coulthard but Mark Lucas equalized with a stunning twenty yard curler. Peter Voss made it 2-1 to the blues before Coulthard sent the game to a penalty shoot out with a fine strike just before the final whistle. Thanks to the generosity of the patrons of Number 23 on Church Hill, players, supporters and family members, over £400 was raised in Willy's memory for The Meningitis Trust. Club Chairman Ian Jennings described the day as 'very emotional but highly enjoyable'. He added 'it was a fitting tribute to Willy, he would have enjoyed the game and the banter afterwards and its certainly something we plan to do as an annual event'.

Personally I thought Luke's goal was a cross, I found the only bobble on the pitch AND I deliberately missed the penalty so Willy's Dad could be on the winning side....
A tremendous day which was well supported, many thanks to all concerned.
