The season finished with a wimper for Cawood as they just managed to field a bare 11 players against already promoted Rawcliffe Rangers. The game was very entertaining but Rawcliffe ran out 7-2 winners.
Ben Rawson signed off with his 18th of another productive season to seal the golden boot. The biggest cheer of the day came when Mark Spooner playing his last game for Cawood (like many i pressume)before hanging up his boots, chested down from a corner and blasted a volley into the top corner in a fitting end to his footballing days.
At present Cawood no longer have a manager as Glassby steps down to spend more time with his Family and if no one steps up, the impending exodus of players moving on free transfers to further themselves will go ahead. Times look bleak!!
Cawood chairman Mick Thompson was qouted as saying:
"I placed the add for a new manager as soon as I new Jason was to leave, the funds are in place to have a team and we have the sponsors in place for the next couple of seasons. All we need now is a manager who can come in and keep the better players and bring in a few new faces to make Cawood FC a strong team again"
