Just read this on your match report
'Semi-finalists in the past three seasons Kartiers really had no one but themselves to blame for a woeful display against a team that would struggle to compete at the level that Kartiers play week in week out'
Come on, we out played you fair and square, should have been more. Really expected more from a team doing well in your league, but there is no question that the west yorkshire prem is far superior. You would struggle week in week out.
Overrated. |

Oh believe me, Wetherby deserved to win but it would have been nice if not just Wetherby had turned up to play. Well worked goals? Or stupidity (regardless of the offside), cock-up, calamity, balls up?
To be overrated would suggest that someone is rating Kartiers FC and all the other teams in the district, country, world, which is nice...
I'd like to meet that extremely knowledgable and very busy person.
Is it you? Are you the fountain of all football knowledge? Will you take our training sessions?
I bow to your superior knowledge.... |

I agree with the The Real Orange. The comments in your match report were not very sportsmanlike. How can you comment on Wetherby struggling against your "week in week out" standard?! Have you had your scouts watching us all year to see what our usual standard is?! Maybe you are the fountains of footballing knowledge then?
Also, yes the ref had some bad decisions which affected both sides. How your number 3 stayed on the pitch all game was bewildering?!
Anyway....here's my match report....
Wetherby 4-1 Kartiers
West Yorkshire Premier League outfit Wetherby Athletic comfortably outplayed and outclassed York District Minnows Kartiers FC in what can only be described as a one-sided battering. Wetherby didn't even need to step out of second gear to get the job done as there was little challenge in front of them. Wetherby make it through to the semi's. Kartiers sulk back with their tails between their legs. End. |

Firstly, 'the level....' referred to in the report had nothing to do with the difference in standard between the York League and the West Yorkshire League, it was a reference to the standard of football produced by Kartiers this season and in particular over the last two seasons. If that form, 17 games unbeaten in a tough league of high standard, had been produced, then I like to think that the result would have been different.
Is it unusual for you lot to win a game hence the rabid approach to one persons opinion of a game?
Unfortunately, we simply didnt turn up and were beaten by a side who really didnt have to try hard at all. Awful performance, the end.

A few comments....
1) "in a tough league of high standard" - are we talking about the York District League?! It's full of Sunday / Pub sides.
2) "Is it unusual for you lot to win a game" - No not really...but when you play against good teams every week it's not always easy to have 17 games unbeaten. You boys couldn't beat an egg in our league.
3) With regard the charity donation....that is sorted between the club secs so it's up to them to arrange it and I'm sure they will. Providing enough people bought raffle tickets to cover the refs pay. If they didn't then what can we do?! In all honesty, the game was played in good spirits and there was no bad feeling. Just disappointing that you post biased and offensive comments on your website. Real shame. |

Have you nothing better to do?
'Biased and offensive'??? It was one person's opinion of a game they witnessed, an awful game, I might add, which was decided by sloppy goalkeeping and defending and the injury sustained by the Kartiers forward who had just equalised might have been a deciding factor?? If's and buts aside, Wetherby deserved the win end off. Anything offensive would not be published in the local press, want me to send you copies? Perhaps your lawyers can look into it and sue the paper and the writer of the report?
'Sunday/Pub sides' on a Saturday? Intelligent comment....bit like the original names you keep posting under. I'll keep this going if you want until you run out of 'Orange' references....which with your intelligence shouldnt be too long.
Oh, and before I finish 'Kartiers sulk back with their tails between their legs' biased and offensive? All but two out of sixteen players and staff enjoyed your excellent hospitality, hardly sulking...
But thanks for checking out the website....like the TV, if you dont like it, switch off. |

Well said Ian.
Would you say that this person enjoys winning graciously?
Put a cork in it, you won the game so enjoy it with your friends and fellow players. You saw the game from your perspective and Kartiers representitives saw it from theirs.
Good luck in the semi's!! |

Interesting debate and answers a few questions as we have been receiving a huge amount of mail from the West Yorkshire region about the latest X Factor results.
Please note that my views are exactly that, they are mine, and I mean no offence to any of the contestants. I cant help it if you disagree, if would be boring if we all did dont you think?
My colleagues over at the BBC tell me the same thing is happening with Strictly Come Dancing.
Can I politely suggest you get a life and go out on a Saturday evening and leave the experts to their job.
Thankyou for your time and good luck for the rest of the season.
