The messiah returns this week, no not kevin keegan, but carl marran after a weekend off due to an organised family event.
Plenty of players available for both Kartiers sides, tough decision making and also, possible two new signings for next week?
The ruling that players dropping down from the 1st XI i agree with, what happens when theres loads dropping down im not so sure (it doesnt happen but could have this week)... should the manager have to start ALL of these players and discard the ones who are turning up every week? (itd be hard to take to be dropped from a winning side even if playing well)
What happens when these players are not in the 1st XI plans for a certain duration... they move on to play 1st team football elsewhere? ..providing they do, then who do you call upon?... the players whove been discarded?
...oh... the Heworth game was called off by the way |

It is my understanding that Kartiers FC are a club with a 1st team and a reserve team, not 2 completely seperet teams. The reserves are there as a feeder club to the 1st team. If people had the attitude to want to prove themselves and try hard to get into the 1st team, maybe people wouldn't just complain when the '1st team' player who is actually a 'Kartiers FC' player, is to play for the reserves for one reason or another. I wonder if Eagles at Manchester United throws his teddy out when Ronaldo is required to play for the reserves. I'll have a look on their forum and see if thats the case.
Remember, 1 club, NOT 2 teams. |

Classic examlpe of how you agree with someone yet are looking to discuss/argue about it! bizarre! ...and on a forum!
Great example with the whole Eagles/Ronaldo scenario but...
I read it that the discussion was more focused on 'how many' current 1st XI become 2nd XI players...
(surely too may current 1st XI turns into players which will be in 2nd XI and then are no longer current 1st XI but current 2nd XI.... maybe i dont understand what it was that was said but anyway)
Some current 2nd XI may then find themselves surplus, but then thats the heartache of football. Maybe some are then trying to punch above their own weight as the standard increases?
...its difficult and unlikely to happen that so many return from injury/holiday in one weekend.... but at the end of the day like someone else mentioned previously.... competition for places is always gonna be good for the club.
1st Team and Reserves wording sounds like there's a divide, same with 1st XI and 2nd XI (less so) but as someone has already mentioned, its 1 club of 50 players vying for 2 squad selections. Hasnt helped for eg. when you had famous manager quoting about 2 great teams in merseyside, Liverpool and Liverpool reserves...
...whatever!!! Its one club!!! (with all due respect to the great man)
One things for sure... we have some bad spellers on this forun |

As a former kartiers fc player, i think that the current system of players who have been released from the first team squad starting for the reserves is the correct one, from my point of view all people who are currently in the 2nd team squad should be wanting to get themselves into the 1st team squad as playing in the top league in York should be a motivation to players. although i understand people view that they are only playing for enjoyment the club wants to progress further and win more trophy's for both teams, so with the previous comment 'knowing were there loyalties are' then there loyalties should be with the club as a whole including both managers who do a great deal for the club which should also be remembered.
Competition for places in both teams should be looked upon as a good thing becasue it means the club is going places, were as even at the beginning of last season the reserves where struggling to get 11 players,
so all players at the club should be wanting both the teams in club to do well, |
